Abstract

The paper studies the case of a number of 19 sportsmen who experienced knee sprains, degree I and II, and who besides the speciality treatment followed a recovery period consisting in individualized /personalized kinetotherapy. The age distribution was the following: 19-25 years -15 subjects, 26-30 years – 1 subject, 31-35 years -3 subjects. Out of these 14 were male and 5 female. The study lasted 4 years. The cinematic analysis at the joint level of the lower limb was made with the Zebris CMS system observing the bio-mechanic modifications present at the joint level of the knee, during walking on a flat surface and on the rolling carpet, at the end of the recovery period. On the basis of the recordings made we obtained data on the walking stages (balance, support), steps succession and the side angle and the lateral angle as an associated movement present just because of ligament laxity secondary to knee sprain experienced by the sportsmen. Thus we noticed the existence of a high value of ligament laxity, at 6 cases, out of which 2 are aged 21, 3 belong to the 30-35 group age and 1 is under 25.

Key words:

laxity, sprain, knee.
