Abstract

Interesting both through the obvious results body-wise and the integration of the psychic sphere, Pilates is, in fact, a combination between the gimnic means and yoga, each of them having a distinct contribution to the holistic model of influencing the individual. The Pilates Method can be used by: individuals with physical and postural deficiencies (scoliosis, cyphosis, hyperlordosis, knee deficiencies, hypomobility, hypermobility), athletes (dancers, skaters, tennis-players, athletes, swimmers), individuals with musculoskeletal diseases (fibromyalgia), rheumatoid diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis), postborth disfunctions (loss of muscle tone in the pelvic and abdominal muscles), pregnant women (to prevent low-back pains and sciatic nerve pain due to pregnancy), etc.
The present paper wishes to state a few references concerning the specific exercises for the correction of the spine`s deficient attitudes, i.e. the adaptation of the programs to the specificities of each disease, the goal of the paper being to identify approachable exercises, adaptable to the physical therapy treatment, which would help in correcting scoliotic and cyphotic attitudes.

Key words:
